Aluminized Steel Pipes
Aluminized Steel Pipes
Composition
Aluminized steel pipes are made from aluminized steel plates, consisting of 90% aluminum and 10% silicon. This combination of iron and aluminum utilizes the strengths of both metals to create steel pipes with special properties. Our company offers steel pipes with a thickness range of 0.5–2.5 mm and a coating thickness of 80–300 g/㎡ (double-sided).
Advantages
- Strong Plasticity and High Ductility
Aluminized steel pipes are easy to process and shape, making them ideal for the automotive industry. - High Temperature Resistance and Heat Dissipation
The iron-aluminum alloy formed by the substrate and coating provides excellent high-temperature resistance. The aluminized plate maintains high reflectivity at 450°C. Above 480°C, the coating turns gray but remains protective. Even at 650°C, the protective layer prevents oxidation without flaking. This heat dissipation performance is crucial for automotive applications. - Corrosion Resistance
During the hot-dip plating process, molten aluminum reacts with oxygen to form a stable Al2O3 protective layer, which passivates the surface of the steel plate. This layer is insoluble in water and has a self-healing function when scratched. As a result, aluminized plates have strong resistance to chemical corrosion, making them suitable for automotive exhaust pipes and other applications requiring high corrosion resistance. - Environmental Protection
As environmental concerns grow, aluminized steel pipes meet strict safety and ecological standards, aligning with the shift towards new energy electric vehicles.
Why Aluminized Steel Pipes Are More Expensive
- High Raw Material Costs
The cost of raw materials is approximately 1,500 yuan higher per ton than galvanized steel. - Slow Production Speed
Aluminized tubes are produced at 20-30 meters per minute, which is one-fourth the speed of high-frequency welded tubes. - High Testing Costs
Each roll’s head and tail sections must be cut and tested for weld strength, bending, and pressure. Production only continues after passing these inspections, adding to costs. - High Processing Costs
Due to their brittle and thick coating, aluminum-silicon steel plates are prone to damage during production. High-quality production processes and equipment are necessary, limiting processing to only two or three facilities in China. - Reliable Welding Repairs
We use aluminum wire for weld repairs to ensure rust and corrosion resistance, unlike some manufacturers who use cheap zinc wire that can cause corrosion. These details help ensure product reliability.
