Characteristics of Aluminized Sheets

1. High Temperature Resistance

Aluminized sheets are highly resistant to high temperatures due to the formation of an iron-aluminum alloy. This unique structure ensures excellent performance at elevated temperatures. At 450°C, the sheets maintain a high reflectivity, and even at 650°C, the protective layer remains intact, preventing oxidation.

2. Heat Reflectivity

Aluminized sheets can reflect 80% of incident heat at 480°C. This makes them ideal for use as thermal insulation barriers or heat reflectors in high-temperature environments, allowing for quick temperature increases in furnaces through effective heat reflection.

3. Mechanical Strength

The mechanical strength of Aluminized sheets at room temperature matches that of the base steel. However, at 480°C, these sheets are ten times stronger than regular aluminum sheets. This allows for a reduction in steel thickness by at least 30%, offering significant material savings.

4. Corrosion Resistance

During the hot-dip plating process, molten aluminum reacts with oxygen to form a protective Al2O3 layer, which passivates the steel surface. This layer is stable, water-insoluble, and self-healing, ensuring strong resistance to chemical corrosion even if the surface is scratched.

5. Ecological Benefits

Aluminized sheets that have not undergone chemical passivation are safe for use in food processing, as confirmed by multiple professional tests. They are environmentally friendly and fully recyclable. While offering comparable properties to stainless steel, they cost about one-third as much. Their applications include automotive and motorcycle mufflers, exhaust pipes, fuel tanks, heat exchangers, air conditioners, and various household appliances.

6. Additional Features

Standard MAG and TIG welding techniques can be used with Aluminized sheets, and they can undergo various forming processes like drawing, stamping, and tube drawing. The coating on these sheets provides long-lasting gloss, enhanced corrosion resistance, and improved weathering resistance.
